Service Description: New Jersey has many diverse ecological landscapes capable of providing increased protection from coastal storm's heavy rains, storm surges, and flooding. However, these protective ecological areas are threatened by dense coastal development, erosion, and increasing sea levels. Utilizing natural and nature-based ecological solutions, such as but not limited to, living shorelines and marsh restoration strategies provide protection to critical habitat, people and infrastructure. The primary goal of the Ecological Solutions Project Program is to determine successful strategies, lessons learned, and provide adaptive management practices to conceptual, permitted, federal consistancy, and monitored projects along New Jersey's coastlines. The Ecological Solutions Project Program is an online, interactive mapping application that provides the locations of these projects in various phases, with links to supporting project information.
